Discreet and environmentally friendly, the Bosch Tassimo Caddy

Discreet and environmentally friendly, the Bosch Tassimo Caddy

The Tassimo coffeemakers are all created by Bosch according to certain essential criteria. For example, they all use t-discs equipped with barcodes. Another common point is that particular care is taken with power consumption. For example, the Bosch Tassimo caddy TAS 7002 is in energy class A. In addition, this is a machine designed for large coffee consumers. It is ideal for use in a meeting room or any other type of workplace.

Complete presentation of the Bosch Tassimo Caddy

Discreet and environmentally friendly, the Bosch Tassimo Caddy

This new Bosch machine is a top-of-the-range machine.

It is much more compact than the Tassimo Suny for example, and it was made to fit into a niche without interfering with its proper functioning. Indeed, the reservoir is located on the side of the coffee maker, but can be removed on the front. In addition, it has a capacity of 1.2 l, a large capacity compared to what the vast majority of electrical machines offer.

Its rounded design is associated with two t-disc holders. Each one can be installed on one side (increasing the surface area required by the machine). They can receive 16 capsules each. It is a simple fact of storage space.

It has a pressure similar to all Tassimo machines. The result is a creamy and balanced coffee. All this is prepared discreetly, since the machine emits only 50 dB at its maximum.

The cup rest can be installed at three different heights, allowing it to accommodate mugs, among other things.

The Tassimo machine as a whole is robust to handling, despite an all-plastic exterior.

Use a Tassimo on a regular basis

The on/off button is located on the side of the machine and is easy to operate.

In fact Tassimo stands out from other machines by its simplicity. When the machine is switched on, you only have to press a single button, just once (unlike the Senseo among others). That is to say, you just have to put the t-disc in its place and start the coffee. Reheating and extraction will follow by themselves. As for the quantity of water, it will be taken care of by the machine after reading the barcode on the pod.

On the front of the Tassimo Caddy you will also find three indicator lights. They signal the need to fill the tank and start descaling. The last light indicates that coffee is being prepared.

For maintenance, the various elements to be cleaned are easy to disassemble and they are all dishwasher safe. And descaling is simplified thanks to the use of a t-disc to start this very specific cleaning process.

How long does it take to make a cup of coffee?

If Tassimo announces that there is no preheating, there is no preheating. However, the pre-heating is included in the coffee making process, so you don’t really notice it.

The preheating is very fast on this model, unlike all other Tassimo coffee makers. It only takes 15 seconds. However, it takes 30 seconds to make a short cup of coffee, which can be made longer with a larger amount of water. In the end, it takes 45 seconds to make a short coffee, which is the average time for electric coffee machines.

Unfortunately it only allows you to prepare one cup at a time, but this is the case for all Tassimo coffee makers, as well as Nespresso.

My opinion and the price of the Tassimo Caddy

Discreet and environmentally friendly, the Bosch Tassimo Caddy

For a top-of-the-range machine, the Tassimo caddy relies above all on its design. I really like its elegance and sobriety. For example, the cup rest does not only have perforations to catch the last drops. These are clearly arranged in a thoughtful way in relation to its look. The Caddy is available in black, white or silver (sophisticated grey). In fact each model plays on contrasts and are therefore all two-coloured.

Compared to other Tassimo’s, the Tassimo Caddy offers a tank more consequent, slightly faster preparation and greater discretion.

It’s easy to use, easy to clean and the capsule holders allow you to have everything at hand.

On the other hand, it costs up to two to three times as much as la Tassimo Vivy and that seems a little excessive. Fortunately, while its recommended retail price is €150, in reality it can be found between €100 and €120 online. You just have to be able to take the time to look for it.

The plusses:

  • energy class A
  • 2 t-disc holders
  • 15 s warm-up time
  • 50 dB maximum
  • descaling indicator light
  • front tank

The least:

  • its price

It is impossible to choose for you the design that suits the place that will host your future electric coffee maker. On the other hand, Tassimo Caddy offers you a machine that is extremely easy to use and requires very little maintenance. Above all, it has a large tank, which is easy to fill, without ever having to move the coffee maker. It is particularly suitable for shared areas, those places where several people need to be able to use the machine without thinking too much about it.
